We all know the function of shoes, their utility, the style they possess, and the confidence they give. During her professional career, Michelle Quick always falls back to the traditional process of peddling shoes. I was able to meet her during her time at the On-View Residency program at Sulfur Studios. She set out with a month-long timeline to completely design, cut, and make three shoes in a varying set of styles. The following photos are some in-studio glimpses of her process at Sulfur itself as well as follow up photos documenting the materials used and product produced over that time.
